Tamika Black, MSW

Prelicensed Psychotherapist

I am a Master’s-level social worker with over seven years of experience supporting individuals and families through crisis, transition, and healing. My approach to therapy is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and the belief that every person has the capacity for change and growth when supported in the right environment.

My background includes working in mobile crisis response, transitional housing, youth advocacy, and mental health program supervision. I have supported clients facing a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, and family conflict. I specialize in working with youth, young adults, and parents navigating life transitions, identity exploration, and emotional regulation.

In sessions, I integrate trauma-informed practices, motivational interviewing, and strengths-based approaches to create a safe, collaborative space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I am deeply committed to honoring each individual’s lived experience and tailoring care to meet their unique needs and goals.

Whether I’m providing therapy, case coordination, or crisis support, I strive to build trust, promote resilience, and support healing. I am currently pursuing clinical licensure to expand my ability to provide long-term therapeutic care.
